On March 14th, we set off on an unforgettable 4 days adventure, planned by the English teacher. We had to get up very early at 2:30 a.m. I was very sleepy. We went by bus to Francisco Sá Carneiro airport, in Porto, until boarding we had to go through a series of places and controls. We boarded and arrived in London. We left our backpacks at the hotel and set off on the adventure.
On the first day we visited Trafalgar Square, passed Big Ben, on the way to Buckingham Palace we saw squirrels (they were very cute) and passed by the British Prime Minister's Residence, Nr 10 Downing Street, our aim was to ride the London Eye (the second largest Ferris wheel in the world), but to my great regret, we didn't arrive on time. We had dinner at the Hard Rock Café.
On the second day. We visited the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, went on a cruise along the river Thames and, on this day, we rode the London Eye, it was incredible. The visit to the London Eye, in my opinion, would be more interesting at night, as we would have the opportunity to see the lighting of Big Ben and the entire city, but it was incredible!
In the afternoon we went to the wax museum, Madame Tussaud’s where we watched a short 4D Marvel movie, we walked through Hyde Park and passed through Kensington Gardens and Palace, we visited the Lego and M&M's store. We had dinner at Pizza Express.
On the third day, we visited the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. I found it very interesting, we went along Victoria Street to Westminster Cathedral, we even went to Camden Town, where we had dinner at the Golden Lion Canden, we tasted the famous Fish and Chips, it was delicious!
Back at the hotel, on the subway, we had a party, which was really fun. On the subway I heard a phrase that never leaves my head, precisely because I have heard it too many times, the phrase was “Mind the gap between the train and the platform”.
On the fourth and last day, we checked out at the hotel and prepared to see the King's Guard Surrender ceremony, but it was cancelled. After lunch, we head to the airport to return to Portugal.
I was very sorry that we didn't have time to visit everything that was planned, however, we visited most of it. The only things we didn´t see was the Harry Potter Platform and Notting Hill, due to extreme weather conditions and lack of time due delays caused by the big group.
I really enjoyed learning more about the English culture and visiting London. Without a doubt, an unforgettable study visit.
I loved it! I would really like to repeat the experience.
Special thanks to the organization of the visit.
